Student records are confidential and are released only to appropriate faculty and administrative offices. UB can release student records to any other college, prospective employer, or agency only with the written permission of the student. Student addresses or telephone numbers are released by the university unless the student has requested the non-release of directory information by submitting a Request for Directory and Information Release/Non-Release (PDF).

We solicit other pieces of information from you, such as ethnicity, religion, expected graduation date, intended major (undergraduate students), and gender.
Student systems also record service indicators/holds, which are used to stop a student from enrolling or, in some cases, receiving services until the reason for the service indicator/hold has been resolved with the office that placed it.
